About Me
Hello, I’m Laura!
I have been crafting and creating as long as I can remember, but it always seems like the more I learn, the more I realize how much more there is to know. If you are interested in all kinds of crafts, from knitting and sewing to spinning and crochet and anything else that looks like fun, please stick around, I’m sure you will find something to inspire your own creative journey!
About Me
I was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and still live in the same city I was born in with my husband and our two kiddos. The rainy days make for the perfect excuse to stay indoors and work on whatever my current project happens to be.
When I am not creating something with yarn or thread or wool, I can usually be found in the kitchen, making something delicious (and usually at least a little bit nutritious).
I have a science background and have spent over 10 years working in different kinds of laboratories. This kind of work can be stressful, so its always nice to come home and do something completely different and creative.
I love animals and have two dogs: Maggie, a Giant Rat Terrier and Watney, an Australian Cattle Dog AKA Red Heeler. Both are incredibly spoiled.
I am an aspiring gardener, but still have a lot to learn. My focus is on vegetables, but the best luck I’ve had is growing herbs.
I live in the city but dream of being able to move to somewhere where I can have chickens and some fiber animals, maybe some sheep and an alpaca or two.
Fun Facts
In 4th grade I won a drawing contest for a Peter and the Wolf.
I can touch my nose with my tongue (always a fun party trick).
I am right handed, but I do cartwheels left handed.
The one food I cannot stand (even if other people are eating it) is cottage cheese. The smell, the taste, the texture, it’s all gross!
