Training Wynnie – The Cuttle Corner #26
Welcome to the twenty-sixth edition of The Cuttle Corner! I’ve been busy with dog training, so I haven’t done as much crafting as usual, but there is still a bit of knitting and weaving.
If you missed last week’s post, you can take a look here.
Now, let’s get cozy!
What’s Going On
This week has been all about dogs. With our recently adopted rescue dog, Wynnie, still settling in, I’ve been spending a lot of time making sure both dogs have everything they need.
Now that she is more comfortable here, it is so fun watching her personality come out more and more. She is a very sweet dog, stubbornly cuddly, and very smart.
We are starting from scratch with dog training, but she is learning fast. She already has “sit” and “down” covered pretty well, next up is “up,” “down,” and “come”!
I had to beef up our fence today after Wynnie figured out there were a few places she could slip underneath and go chasing after squirrels. Fortunately, she wasn’t trying to get away, just explore, and she was right next door. I had her back home in a manner of minutes.
None of our previous dogs had ever gotten out before, even though they were all smaller than her. Like I said, she’s a smart dog.
She will be wearing her brother’s collar until we get her proper tags with our phone numbers on them, just in case she gets out again. Even if she does find another way out, she is microchipped, and we keep a close eye on the dogs when they are outside.
I can’t wait to have more adventures with this beautiful girl, but hopefully they don’t involve me running after her in my pajamas again.
What I’m Working On
Knitting
After finishing the sleeves on my cabled cardigan (Kildalton pattern by Kate Davies) last week, I haven’t touched it. I really don’t like picking up stitches, and I have a lot to pick up for the next part of the sweater, so I’ve been avoiding the whole thing.
I did make a little progress on my socks. All I have left is the toe of the second sock, weaving in ends, and they will be done!
Weaving
I’m still working on my weaving texture sampler. I’ve started on this diagonal pattern that I quite like.
It’s a bit slower to weave since I have to re-do the pickup sticks every “down” row, but I like the final result.
Until next time, keep cuttle-ing!
What are you working on? I’d love to hear about your projects in the comments below.
I’m making a pair of your fall earrings! Love the pattern.
I enjoyed reading about your new pup!
